In The Counterfeit Poles, Nathan Drew recorded the names and biographical details of many of
the people he met in Poland during the Holocaust. Through additional archival research and
the aid of Holocaust testimonies, the following exhibit , when possible, builds upon the
stories of the people in Nathan's memoir. In telling their stories, Nathan hoped to avoid
future genocidal failures. In the "Preface" of The Counterfeit Poles, he wrote:
Our responsibility now is, to the best of our abilities, to attempt to pass
the experiences and hardships that we lived through on to our descendants
so that they know how their brothers lived and died, so that they can study
it and strive to avoid similar tragedies.
This section of the website attempts to live up to that responsibility.

wielu osób, które spotkał w Polsce podczas Holokaustu. Poprzez dodatkowe badania
archiwalne i analizę świadectw o Holokauście, poniższe biografie , w miarę możliwości,
uzupełniają historie ludzi z książki Nathana. Opowiadając ich historie, Nathan miał
nadzieję uniknąć przyszłych tragedii i ludobójstwa. W przedmowie do „Pozorowanej
tożsamości” napisał:
Naszym obowiązkiem jest teraz, w miarę naszych możliwości, próba podzielenia
się z naszymi potomkami doświadczeniami i trudnościami, które przeżyliśmy,
aby wiedzieli,jak żyli i umierali ich bracia, aby mogli wyciągnąć z nich
naukę i starali się unikać podobnych tragedii.
